Identity Politics Equals Racism?

So the Democrat governor of Virginia got caught this week having a yearbook photo of him (he says not him) in black face with another grad student in full KKK costume. What does CNN do? They display his name with “(R)” after it.

How do you make a mistake like that? Was it a mistake at all, or does CNN simply never miss an opportunity to smear Republicans and conservatives? What may have happened is that, because of the Democrat party’s commitment to Identity Politics and CNN’s commitment to propping up the Democrat party, some low-level Chyron operator simply assumed anyone who would appear in black face with someone in a Klan costume would be a Republican.

I would submit that Identity Politics is the essence of Racism and the reason it has found a home in the Democrat party is that Democrats, from the beginning until now, have been the party of racism, which is why they try so desperately and constantly to smear Republicans with that brush.

Need examples? The first Democrat president forced five Native American tribes westward on “The Trail of Tears” where many died, so they wouldn’t be in the way of America’s first gold rush. The first Republican president freed the slaves. Democrat politicians seceded from the Union rather than give up their slaves and even northern Democrats voted against emancipation. Republicans voted overwhelmingly to make freed slaves citizens and give them the right to vote. Democrats started the Ku Klux Klan which terrorized and killed African Americans in the South. All African American politicians from the end of the Civil War through the early 20th century were Republican. Even Martin Luther King Jr. voted Republican and his niece still does today. West Virginia elected a former Klansman to the United States Senate, where he served for many decades (Robert Byrd). When the Civil Rights Act of 1964 came up for a vote, Democrats like Byrd and Al Gore Sr. filibustered and voted against it. Republicans overwhelmingly voted for it, or it wouldn’t have passed.

There are many more examples. One example that crosses the political hot-button issues of Race and Abortion is Margaret Sanger, founder of Planned Parenthood, a disciple of Eugenics, whose stated purpose for her organization was to stem the growth of the African American population. So abortion is at bottom not just the murder of innocents, but genocide. Even today, the African American abortion rate is four times that of whites (https://rtl.org/outreach/).

My contention is that Identity Politics IS Racism. Why do I say that? First, to focus on Identity Politics, you must be obsessed with race, gender, class, etc. In our upside-down, 1984-double-speak world, those who claim to be colorblind are called racists! To avoid the charge of racism, you MUST be race obsessed and judge people by the color of their skin, rather than the “content of their character.”

Second, taken to its logical conclusion, Identity Politics has to oppose inter-racial marriage. Why? Because if you blur racial lines through intermarriage, how do you stoke outrage between the races in people who are multi-racial? Unless people who are the product of intermarriage do what President Obama did and choose to identify with one half of his racial heritage while disrespecting the other, Identity Politics would have no appeal. Obama is the ultimate product of an interracial marriage, with a mother who was VERY white and a father who was completely native African (not African American), yet he chose to identify as black. The fact that he felt he needed to identify as black is itself in my mind racist. Why could he not just identify as “American,” rather than “white” or “black.”

After several generations of the mixing of races through intermarriage, how will Democrats be able to sustain conflict and outrage between races? When one person can point to European, African and Asian ancestors, why would they harbor racist feelings toward a race that is included in their own heritage? How can a person who is half white, rail against “white privilege?” I realize some do (Kamala Harris? Corey Booker?), but doing so is disingenuous and nonsensical.

So, at the end of the day, the Democrats’ Identity Politics focus depends on segregation of the races. Race, gender and class must be used to divide people, because outrage is the fuel for Identity Politics. People must be divided into races and classes to feel outrage against the “other.”
