“Unplanned,” the movie based on the book by Abby Johnson, a former clinic director for Planned Parenthood, debuted at number four in nationwide box office receipts in spite of being on just a little over 1,000 screens compared to plus-or-minus 4,000 screens for the number one through three and fifth movies according to Box Office Mojo.
The powerful true-story film also suffers from an unwarranted “R” rating and a media blackout, due some say to pressure from Planned Parenthood, which is made to look pretty bad in the movie.
Abby Johnson is now an advocate for the pro-life position and is an ideal spokesperson, having had two abortions herself and having been a rising star in Planned Parenthood management before becoming convicted that what they were doing was morally wrong.
