The attempted murder of several Republican Congressmen on the 14th of this month puts some important realities in stark relief. Even though Speaker Ryan said, “An attack on one of us is an attack on all of us” and Nancy Pelosi denounced the shooting, the fact is that it wasn’t an attack on all lawmakers; it was an attack on REPUBLICANS by a man who first asked if it was Republicans or Democrats who were on the ball field and belonged to a Facebook group called “Terminate All Republicans”.
During recent days, Madonna has said she wanted to blow up the White House, Snoop Dog shot an actor portraying Donald Trump in a music video, Comedienne Kathy Griffin displayed a severed head that represented Donald Trump and a performance of Shakespeare’s Julius Caesar was hijacked so they could portray President Trump being stabbed to death.
Those “artistic” portrayals, not to mention lies and innuendo in the news media, didn’t CAUSE the shooting, but they gave PERMISSION for it.
I also include the New York Times, the Washington Post, CNN, MSNBC, ABC, NBC and CBS as giving permission for violent attacks on Republicans. How?
Here’s what I mean: Democrats/Liberals/Socialists/Communists/Leftists/Anarchists (take your pick) always portray politics as if it was a movie: with a villain, a victim, and a hero which rescues the victim. In their scenario, they are always the hero, the victim is the minority group du jour and the villain is Republicans/Conservatives/Libertarians/Christians.
This has got to stop.
This kind of scenario is what gives permission for lunatics to act on what the media and Democrat politicians intimate needs to happen to save the victims.

Here’s the reality: Democrats and Republicans, Liberals and Conservatives, people of all stripes want the same things. They want to be able to feed their families. They want to be able to send their children to college. They want to have the freedom to earn a living, either through a job that fits their abilities or through starting a business. They all want the freedom to worship as they see fit (or not).
Democrats have got to stop saying that Republicans are racist. THEY ARE NOT!
Democrats have got to stop saying that Republicans want people to die. THAT’S JUST STUPID!
Liberals have got to stop saying that Conservatives want dirty water and dirty air. THAT’S CRAZY! After all we breathe the air and drink the water just like Democrats do.
In short, Democrats and Republicans want pretty much the same things. They just have different ideas about how to accomplish those things. That’s it. That’s the sum total of the difference. Democrats need to cut the crap and rationally discuss their differences with other political parties, recognizing other ideas as valid even if they disagree.
So the Democrats need to stop portraying Republicans as racist, homophobic, bigoted, anti-environment, etc. Republicans are not villains and Democrats really, REALLY aren’t heroes!
So just cut it out, Democrats, unless you want more blood on your hands.
